Photoshop - building a better composite

Gold Coast Studios (map)

Composites

In this meetup we'll cover everything about making composite images that are completely believable, and all the little things that go into these images beyond simply cutting a subject out of one shot and placing it on a different background (we will cover the best ways to do that too).

We'll dive into pre-planned composites, shooting backgrounds, textures, and other elements specifically for later use in compositing; Removing fringing and color contamination at the edges; Blending your subject into it's new scene; Adding shadows and reflections; blending color balance from differing light sources; artificially creating depth of field in the background; layer blend modes, and much more...

As we usually do, we'll also send you home with instructional materials to dive even further into the subject matter, in .pdf format

Bring your laptop!

For anyone who hasn't been to the studio, it's located at:

Gold Coast Studio

5935 SW 21st Street,

West Park, FL 33023

and you can see a google map of the location, and get directions here.

The time was for 7PM, so when I arrived at 6:50 and I waited till 7:10, and noone informed me that everyone was late. I'm always on time. If nobody was there I will go home.

You're always one of the first at every event, while I usually bring up the rear.... Hell, you work hard all day... not worth sitting around if nobody's there. Next time, give Jim a call if you have his cell #.

When I left Coral Springs at 5:45 pm last night, there were 6 people attending this meetup. When I arrived at the studio @ 7:06 (by my watch, clock in the truck & clock in the studio) due to an accident on the Turnpike, there were 4 scheduled (two had changed their RSVP less than an hour before start time). One had apparently left already. 30 minutes later, one person showed up. It takes a considerable amount of time and effort to prepare for these meetups, whether they be photo shoots or classes. I'd like to think that light study offers a good deal of value, when compared to other offerings out there - cutting edge tutorial materials, agency represented models, props you probably couldn't afford to procure on your own (cars, bikes, etc.) an most certainly not for the price per event. We've reached out asking for feedback, and 4 out of 362 people took 5 seconds to respond to the poll. Others BEG for themes in person, and don't bother to attend. So, WHAT IS IT YOU GUYS WANT???
